Goals

Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in accordance with the philosophy and goals of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia strives: 

• To develop a healthy Catholic Faith in our students through religious studies, liturgical celebrations, and various experiences in prayer.
• To encourage active participation within the parishes and the archdiocese by involvement in the Eucharist as well as service oriented community activities.
• To foster an environment in which the Gospel message is lived with a Christian understanding of respect for self, others and life at all stages.
• To develop attitudes conducive to responsible citizenship in a democratic society.
• To develop the talents of students of diverse academic abilities.
• To integrate learning skills which assist the student with the ability to think logically, conduct research and refine decision-making skills.
• To provide students with the basic tools necessary to function in their chosen vocation through the continuation of their education or their immediate entrance to the workplace.
• To promote increased professional competency in the faculty and staff through department meetings, administrative supervision, continued formal study, local conferences and workshops and memberships in professional associations.
• To foster sound emotional health of the students through cooperation with the Guidance Department and the School Ministry Office, assisting students in making appropriate choices though individual and group guidance, spiritual retreats, testing services, printed materials, field trips, guest speakers and career assemblies.
• To promote social and physical development of the individual especially through providing extra and co-curricular activities.
• To instill in students a sense of self-discipline.
• To evaluate school policies and procedures through ongoing discussions between administration, faculty, and the Office of Catholic Education.
