Please remember that as a student at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School; each student represents the school 24 hours, 7 days a week. If there is a problem that happens outside of school, the school may take whatever action that is appropriate.

Quick Reference Guide

Arriving to School
Students must be in homeroom at 7:30am. Those students who come into school after the 7:30 bell are considered late. Students must come to the office for a late pass. After a student’s third late, he or she will receive a demerit for every late afterwards. If a student does not make up the detention, then the student will receive 2 demerits for being late to school.

Cell Phone Zone
Students will be permitted to use the cell phone ONLY in the cafeteria.  Students can use their IPOD and/or cell phone in this zone area only.  However, students may not use the cell phone in any other area such as the classroom, hallway, or bathroom.   Students should get permission from a faculty or staff member when not in the cafeteria.

Demerits/Suspension
Once a student accumulates 20 demerits, he or she will be suspended. The student and parents must come in for a meeting and the suspension will be out of school. The Assistant Principal for Student Services will determine the type of suspension.

Dress Code
Please review the dress code policy. Students walking around without complete uniforms or students not in uniform, will receive demerits. Boys should not be wearing earrings or body piercings. Girls are allowed one small earring and no body piercings. If you should have any questions, please call the office for more specific information. Boys must purchase a regulation shoe not a black sneaker. If a student does not follow the dress code, he or she will be sent home until the proper uniform is purchased.

Detention Program
Detention will be held in the auditorium from 2:15 to 3:15 each day. Students will attend detention for violations that occur during the school day. Students must come to detention with school work to complete. In addition, practice, tutoring, or an activity meeting are not to take the place of detention.

Absent from School
Please remember that if a student is going to be absent for any reason, a phone call is to be made at school by the parents. In addition, an official absent from school note must be sent in with the student when he or she returns.
You should call the absentee line at 215-945-3520 and leave a message.

Conduct Grade
Every student at Conwell Egan Catholic High School has a conduct grade and will begin with a 100. For every demerit a student may get, the conduct grade will be lowered. At the beginning of the second semester, the grade will go back to a 100. Then, at the end of the year the grade will be divided for a final conduct grade. A failure in any semester could result in a student attending conduct summer school. A final failure at the end of the school year requires a student to attend summer school for two weeks.
