Welcome New CEC Eagles!
Tuesday, 31 August 2010 12:20Conwell-Egan Catholic High School is pleased to welcome the newest members of our school family, the freshmen who make up our Class of 2014 and the transfer students joining grades 10 through 12!
On Wednesday, September 1, incoming freshmen spent the day getting to know CEC—one week prior to the first day of the school year. Led by upperclassmen student and teacher volunteers, freshmen attended homeroom for the first time, explored the school building to locate their lockers and classes, and got to know each other and other members of the CEC community.
Highlights of the day included a prayer service by School Minister Father Christopher Lucas, presentations on academics and social life at CEC, and a barbecue lunch prepared by volunteers from our Father’s Club.

That evening, at 7 p.m., we held a New Parent Night, where parents of students new to CEC got the chance to meet and speak with our administrators and directors.
The following day, we held an orientation day just for our nearly 40 upperclassmen transfers. These students had the opportunity to get to know the school and CEC community through a day dedicated to them and their unique needs.
Understanding that the transition can be challenging for these students coming anywhere from other local private and public schools to across the ocean, CEC volunteers led the students in prayer, delivered presentations on academic and social aspects of life at CEC, and guided tours throughout the building.
Thank you to all the faculty, staff, student, and parent volunteers who helped make these events a great success for the newest members of our CEC community!
