Suicide Awareness Assembly
Thursday, 12 January 2012 11:04Thursday, January 12 Ms. Gallagher's Honors Communication class held an assembly to promote suicide awareness. Students from the class stood on stage and took turns reading to the student body about suicide statistics and prevention methods. The student speakers were followed by a speaker who had personal experience dealing with anxiety and depression. This emotional speech grabbed the attention of the student body and the rest of the auditorium giving students an idea of how serious the issue is. The final speaker of the assembly was a professional therapist who explained the QPR method on how to help a friend who seems to be struggling with everyday activities.
A special thank you goes out to Ms. Gallagher and the students of her Honors Communication class for putting together a very powerful and informative presentation.
