SHADOW DAYS ARE CLOSED FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR AS THE STUDENTS PREPARE FOR THEIR FINALS. SHADOW DAYS WILL REOPEN FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR IN SEPTEMBER. THANK YOU!
What is a Shadow Day?
A shadow day is an opportunity for an eighth grade student to be an “Eagle for a Day”. Eighth grade students are welcome to visit CEC throughout the fall and spring semesters and Seventh grade students are welcome during the spring semester.
Who can I Shadow?
You will be paired with a CEC student ambassador and will attend classes and activities as if you were a CEC student. If you are directly related (sibling) to a student and you would like to shadow them please inform the Admissions Office of that person when you call for an appointment. This does not guarantee that you will be able to shadow that particular student. Otherwise, you will be paired with one of the student ambassadors who has similar interests as you.
What time should I arrive at CEC, and where should I go?
Shadows report to the main office at 7:20 a.m. CEC ambassadors will pick up their shadows by 7:30 a.m. School is dismissed at 2:10 p.m. Shadows can be picked up in in the main office at the end of the day. Shadows must enter the building though our main entrance.
What do I do for lunch?
Shadows will be given a voucher to use in the cafeteria to purchase a lunch.
What should I wear?
CEC maintains a uniform dress code. We ask that shadows adhere to our dress code.
Boys: Dress pants, dress shoes and a collared shirt. Polo style shirts are acceptable. Students who currently attend a Catholic school must wear their school uniform.
Girls: Dress pants, or dress skirt and dress shoes. Students who currently attend a Catholic school must wear their school uniform.
Absolutely NO jeans, gym shoes, T-shirts, sweat pants, sweat shirts, sleeveless or mid-drift tops allowed. Shadows will not be allowed to attend classes if they are inappropriately dressed.
When can I Shadow?
A student can shadow any day of the week CEC has classes. *Please note we do not allow shadows immediately prior to and during Final Exams. Eighth graders are welcome to shadow throughout the year. Seventh graders during the spring semester. Please call one week in advance to schedule a shadow day. This is important as spaces are limited.
